This is Teacher Pat's realization on how does a human brain works with his body...
A brain will deliver message to his body about what to think, what to say, and what to do. A body can sense his surroundings through his 5 senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) and his sixth sense (feeling) to his brain. With pure mind, a brain has no problem respond correctly to his body the right way that will benefit all. Unfortunately most people’s minds are filled with so many thoughts that most of the time these thoughts (whichever that has the most impression or high in frequency) will dominate. That’s how we keep doing the wrong thing even thought we knew it is wrong to do.
For example, when my senses send “Chocolate” to my brain, thoughts such as “It is delicious” and “My favorite snack” will gang up and took over. As the result, I will eat one after one. The only time I don’t eat is when I am recovering from coughing because I eat too much chocolates. The thoughts “Too much chocolate cause coughing”, “Getting sick is no fun” “Coughing make my throat very pain” are still very vivid that they will dominate. However, few days or weeks later, these thoughts will fake away and “I love chocolate” will re-appear again and dominate because it has been in my unconscious mind ever since I am a kid (already been pile-up).
If you want to be your own master, stop letting these bad habits and thoughts dominate you because they will drag you down.
How?
Simply put righteous thoughts into your brain everyday so they will be high in frequency and deep in impression.
In Buddhism, there is a better way --- keep chanting Amituofo. When we are single-minded focusing in Amituofo, our brain restore its pureness and be able to function correctly without any distraction. All wandering thoughts may still pop-up but so weak that they can not carry on and take over.

OK, I will try chanting "Amituofo" next time I feel that something is distracting me so as to regain pureness.
